HISTORY


The Champagne is an old province of France. 
She is formed of counties of Meaux and Troyes. 
They belonged separately or together, according to times, home of Vermondois. 

After XI ème century, they made part of the house of Blois. 
From 1234, she was main of the kingdom of Navarre. 

The country knew a big economic prosperity then. 
This success was bound to his/her/its international fairs. 

From 1284, date of the marriage of Jeanne of Champagne with Philippe the Beautiful, the meeting of the Champagne to France made himself progressively. 

The region knew a new flight to XVII ème century of part the sparkling wine says «champagne». 
XIX ème century was the apogee of the metallic industry and textile. 
The region was the object of important battles in 1915, 1917 and 1918.
